A Seeker’s Plea
Where are you?
Is it that I cannot hear you?
Or is it that I choose not to?
This image I offer,
This persona I covet,
I fear that you will render all I hold precious
To dust.
How foolish this sounds.
How fragile.
How human.
“Grant me initiation….but on my terms please.”
“Birth me for a second time,
Yet allow me to keep the comforts of this existence.”
Am I incubated in the status quo?
Yours is a flaming sword.
It baptizes indiscriminately.
Many perish.
Few rise,
In a world enveloped with ashes,
The Phoenix born
From the wounds of the past.
Grant me courage, cloak me with peace,
To walk in Love,
Than to march in Fear.
Such a time shall dawn where I discover,
I am already Headless.
